On 2 October 2023 the municipality of The Hague will be organising the hacking competition ‘Hâck The Hague’ for the 5th time. This year, the municipality will be hacked by 200 of the best national and international ethical hackers & students. Registration is now open.

During the event teams can compete for €14.000 divided over four different categories, such as most surprising hack, or most impactful hack. Ethical hackers from all over the world will be looking for vulnerabilities in the city’s systems. IT specialists from the municipality and IT suppliers will be serving as judges.

The event will be taking place in the middle of town hall, as opposed to last edition which was fully digital. Streams will be available for those who want to watch the hackathon live. For more information on the hackathon and how the city is employing hackers to keep itself safe, read the e-guide ‘This is how you hack a city’.
