On 15 January 09:30-12:30, NWO is organising two matchmaking events for the KIC Security calls: Data and Intelligence and Maritime Hightech. During the events researchers have the opportunity to develop research questions and mirror them with peers. Commandeur (OF-6) ir. Jan Willem Hartman (Director of Materiel Sustainment of the Royal Netherlands Navy) and Joris den Bruinen (director HSD) will open and introduce the matchmakings of respectively Maritime Hightech and Data and Intelligence.
In addition, on 29 January 09:30-12:30 participants have the possibility to pitch their research idea to potential consortium partners from the public and private sector!
NWO has launched two KIC calls within the KIA Security: Data and Intelligence and Maritime Hightech. The call Data and Intelligence aims at a safe society with the use of data and intelligence with a focus on security. The KIC-call Maritime Hightech focuses on a safe sea through a future-proof and competitive ecosystem of government, knowledge institutions and (maritime) industry. The deadline to submit pre-proposals is April 22 2021 for both calls. These calls invite research that contributes to realising the missions within the KIC. This concerns both technological and societal aspects, with contributions from researchers from different disciplines.
Why two matchmakings?
The matchmaking on 15 January focuses on developing research questions. Which policy and practice questions from the mission driven policy can be translated to research questions? What would this mean for the research? Discover and brainstorm together with peers from the alpha, gamma and beta sciences. Through the matchmaking(s) NWO intends to stimulate the creation of excellent interdisciplinary proposals and facilitate new (research) connections.
On 29 January you have the possibility to pitch your developed research idea to a selected or broad audience of possible consortium partners. Potentially NWO may request the attendees to send in a short video. More information will follow. Both calls have a co-financing obligation of at least 15%.
