Aiming to share knowledge and to create awareness, HSD is organising the international Cyber Security Week at the end of September, adjacent too the Alert Online campaign in October. Both initiatives are joining forces to increase the impact of their innitiatives.

Cyber Security Week
The international Cyber Security Week - an initiative of HSD in cooperation with 80 partners - will take place in The Hague from 25 to 29 September. During more than 70 events, hundreds of experts from government, businesses and science will share their knowledge of internet security and cybercrime and will pitch and discuss their new innovative ideas. Important parts of the Cyber Security Week are the Europol-INTERPOL cybercrime conference and the final of the EC-Council hacking competition Global CyberLympics. Through seminars, lectures, workshops, challenges and showcases, visitors of the CSW will learn about the latest ins and outs of cyber security and will be challenged to share, sharpen and put their knowledge into practice.

After the Cyber Security Week, the national awareness campaign Alert Online will take over. The annually campaign is commissioned by the NCTV during the European Cyber Security Month.

Alert Online
Alert Online is a cyber security campaign and an initiative of the government, businesses education and science. The campaign aims to raise awareness amongst the Dutch society for online and digital safety and so to raise their digital resilience.

Throughout the year, Alert Online organises various activities to address the issue of cyber security. The main focus lies at the campaign weeks, taking place from 2 to 13 October 2017, in which more than 150 partners organise activities to create more awareness for cyber security. The theme is 'Cybersecurity Heroes'; a cybersecurity hero is 'alert online', leads by example and helps others to become cyber secure.

Each year Alert Online presents a research report about the cyber security knowledge attitude and behavior in the Netherlands. In addition a partner programme is being organised, including a kick-off and public campaign.
