HSD Partners Visit Largest IT Security Event of Japan: The Japan IT Week

From 10 until 12 May, HSD accompanied a delegation of its partners to be present at the largest IT Security event of Japan, the Japan IT Week.

 

HSD partners Alliander, RedSocks Security, SIM-CI, SecurityMatters, Compumatica and EclecticIQ will present its cyber propositions to Japan, with the aim to have exposure and create new relationships with Japanese businesses, knowledge institutions and the Japanese government. The purpose of this mission is to contribute to a Cyber save Japan and its vital infrastructures.  

 

The focus of all the activities will be the Holland pavilion, that was created in a joint effort by the Netherlands Embassy in Tokyo and HSD. This visit is one of the concrete results of the collaboration of the 3 year programme Partners for International Business (PIB) that started in July 2016. In this a consortium of Dutch companies, knowledge institutions and The Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO) signed a collaboration agreement 'Partners for International Business' (PIB) in order to create opportunities for Dutch Businesses.

As a result of the PIB, HSD partner SecurityMatters has announced a distribution agreement with the Japanese Macnica Networks for SecurityMatters' industrial cyber resilience solution SilentDefense. The news was announed during the Japan IT Week, where SecurityMatters showed their gratitude to the Innovation Attachés Japan team (Dutch Embassy Tokyo, Ministry of Economic Affairs) for facilitating the initial contact between the two parties, and thus acting as the catalyst for this distribution agreement. 

 

During Interop Japan 2017 the product SilentDefense won the award for Best Network Security Product. SilentDefense was chosen by a jury of 14 experts as the outstanding winner of the award due to the extent of industrial protocols, and for its future-proof ability to monitor not only traditional ICS/SCADA networks, but also Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) / Industry 4.0 applications.
