ABN AMRO’s Facts and Figures about Cyber Crime in The Netherlands

While almost al crime rates in the Netherlands have been decreasing for years now, there is one crime form increasing instead: cyber crime. More and more governments and private- and public institutes face digital security threats. Cybercrime damage cost the Dutch society approximately 9 billion euro in 2014, roughly 1.5 % of the Dutch GDP. Businesses are confronted with the majority of the damage. Therefore, ABN AMRO researched the impact of cyber crime on businesses. Furthermore, the opportunities for IT professionals in this sector is being researched as well.
