The first edition of the Hardwear.io Hardware Security Conference will take place at the HSD Campus on 1-2 October 2015. Hackers, researchers, pentesters, professionals, and university students will gather to discuss and solve hardware security issues, including: backdoors, exploits, trust, assurance and attacks on hardware equipment, firmware, and related protocols. There will also be several training sessions on 29 and 30 September.
The conference's keynote speaker is Jon Callas, Co-Founder and CTO of Silent Circle and Blackphone. Some other interesting research that will be presented during the conference includes the Security of Medical Devices by Florian Grunow, Advanced Attack Methodologies against Security Microcontrollers by Marcus Janke & Dr. Peter Laackmann, A New Attack Surface With Barcode Scanners by Nitay Artenstein, and Hacking Satellite TV receivers by Sofiane Talmat.
