EIT Digital, the European digital innovation organisation, mobilizes hackers from all over the world for the online DATA against COVID-19 Deephack from 1 to 3 May 2020. They are looking for data-driven digital solutions to manage the life cycles of epidemics and pandemics.
The DATA against COVID-19 online DeepHack is open to a maximum of 15 teams of students, entrepreneurs, start-ups, scale-ups, SMEs and companies. Winning teams receive a total of € 15,000. They may also qualify for a follow-up activity where they can further develop and deploy their solution within six months with financial support from EIT Digital.
The DeepHack is from 1 to 3 May. Teams can register until 27 April 2020, noon CET.
COVID-19 will not be the last global pandemic. Identifying better tools and methods to control the life cycle of pandemics is a primary concern of policy makers and market leaders. Modern digital technologies, such as mobile phones, data analysis, Artificial Intelligence (AI) and social media, provide a unique set of tools for data delivery and analysis, modeling, communicating and influencing behavior and for managing life cycles of pandemics.
Participants in the DATA against COVID-19 online DeepHack will use data to develop scalable solutions that can alleviate the current global COVID-19 pandemic. Policy makers, health services and industry leaders can help manage the pandemic life cycle and prevent future public health crises.
For this DeepHack solutions of the following domains are appriciated:
- Alert or monitoring system using mobile DATA
- Info provisioning and sharing DATA relevant to COVID-19
- Systematic DATA analysis in different regions, populations and age groups (allowing for more targeted responses)
- Integration of epidemic and economic DATA in order to drive more accurate societal impact analysis
EIT Digitial is not looking for medical and/or pharma solutions.
