On 6 September, Cisco launched their new cyber security trend report, as part of their programme 'digitale versnelling Nederland': The Netherlands as digital leader of Europe.

In order to achieve this ambitious goal, education must respond more quickly and innovatively to the rapid pace at which society and the economy are digitising. In today’s digital world, it is all about speed, flexibility, innovation and disruption. New technologies such as the Internet of Things and cloud computing require different skills and knowledge, including in the field of cybersecurity. Questions are: What should we do to improve digital literacy in the Netherlands and to protect ourselves against cyber attacks? And how do we prepare students for the jobs of the future?

In the video (in Dutch), Cisco looks at what is needed to stimulate the digital skills of Dutch citizens. In the video, Bart van Rijn (CISO and Date Protection Officer at UMC Utrecht), Gerben Klein Baltink (Chairman of Platform Internetstandaarden) and Joris den Bruinen (General Director HSD), are interviewed to share their point of view.
