The Netherlands Ministry of Foreign Affairs invites participants to register for the interactive conference ‘Data for Peace and Security: leveraging the opportunities of data-driven innovation and technological developments’. This two-day conference will take place in The Hague on 20-21 February 2020.

Conference objective

Information and communication technologies and data analytics are transforming the ways we safeguard human security, prevent violent conflicts and build peace. This conference is about leveraging the full potential of these capacities for international peace and security. It will do so by bringing together experts from various backgrounds and by fostering exchanges, new partnerships and innovative solutions. That way we seek to contribute to the growing international, multi-stakeholder community of practice around data for peace and security.

Registration deadline: 5 January 2020

Participants are invited to register their participation by 5 January 2020 via this link. You will have the opportunity to also register to pitch specific projects, ideas, tools and capacities and/or to host a solutions lab session. The pitches serve to exchange promising initiatives and lessons learned. The solutions lab sessions bring together participants and expertise to leverage the potential of ICT and data-analytics to address common challenges.

Conference programme

The conference will start at 9:30am on 20 February and will end at 16:00pm on 21 February. At day 1 there will be a complimentary dinner for all participants. On the basis of the registrations we will finalise the conference programme. It will contain several rounds of break-out sessions (pitches & solutions labs) and a few plenary sessions with key-note speakers and panellists.
