The countdown is on for 25 May 2018: the date on which the General Data Protection Regulation will be applicable. The Regulation replaces the Dutch Data Protection Act.

Preparations for the new rules will take considerable effort and time. However, there are more reasons to start preparing for the Regulation early. For example, existing permissions to process data will lose their validity if they fail to meet the stringent requirements of the Regulation. To continue using your data after 25 May 2018, it is advisable to seek permission in the manner prescribed by the Regulation starting today.

How to ensure that your organisation meets the requirements of the Regulation? In a practical seminar Jan Baas discusses the steps you should take to bring your organisation into compliance.

Jan is an experienced attorney and partner at BarentsKrans and specialises in privacy law and data protection. Besides being a practising lawyer, Jan is a frequent lecturer in the field of privacy law and regularly publishes on this topic.
