Innovationmission Cybersecurity Taiwan

Date:
19 May 2019 - 24 May 2019
Location:
Taipei, Taiwan
Organised by:
Rijksdienst voor Ondernemend Nederland, Innovatie Attaché Netwerk

Are you active in the field of cybersecurity and are you interested in discovering the possibilities for yourself and your company in Taiwan? Join us for our Cybersecurity Innovation Mission to Taiwan in May.

Just like The Netherlands Taiwan is increasingly digitalising. This development offers labour opportunities and a possibility for economic growth on one hand. It does bring digital vulnerabilities on the other hand. The amount of targeted cyberattacks on both public and private organisations have risen significantly over the last years. Furthermore, the criminals are getting increasinly professional, which makes it more difficult for governments and and companies to detect and block cyberattacks. That is the reason that the Taiwanese government emphasises the importance of cybersecurity. The government will invest millions of euros in increasing cybersecurity within the next years.

Opportunities for The Netherlands

Relatively speaking, The Netherlands is ahead in the field of cybersecurity, for example in Internet of Things (IoT)-security, critical infrastructure-security, threat hunting and security intelligence platforms. By applying these security techniques, the amount of successful attacks could be lowered in Taiwan. In addition to this, Dutch companies could use the  Global EPiC Soft-Landing Programme to do softlanding in Taiwan.

Activities

During the mission you are able to participate in the most important cybersecurity conference in Taiwan, The Explore Next Cyber Taiwan 2019. Here you will meet the most relative stakeholders in the cyberdomain and you will have the opportunity to schedule one-on-one meetings in advance. We also organise extra visits to companies and (networking)activities with possible partners from the industry, the government and top notch universities. In addition to this we also organise (expert)sessions focussed on certain content with a panel/workshop and networking receptions.

The goal of this mission

The goal is to get in touch with possible partners and customers in Taiwan, to explore the market and to position and expand the current Dutch knowledge of cybersecurity. That is why we, as The Netherlands, need to be present on this important cyber conference in Taiwan and position and present our cybersecurity cluster in a good manner.
If this mission offers sufficient opportunities, we will explore further options with interested parties and the Dutch government at the end of this mission.
