December is coming. Are you already looking for nice presents to give in this gifts month? Kids love gadgets and most of them put a gadget on top of their wish list. Because of the growing number of devices and the adoption of these devices in our society, kids are more online than ever before. But how to we prevent our kids from being a victim of cybercrime?

The online safety of our children is extremely important and that’s why KPN CISO has invited experts to talk about this subject. By learning how to support our children in the digital domain can we help and teach them to be more careful in this rapidly changing digital world. We’ve invited the following experts to speak to you on the 18th of December about the online safety of our children.

Arjan Spiering
Arjan is a KPN employee and has a master in Cyber Security from the Cyber Security Academy in The Hague. For his thesis he focused on cyber safety awareness of young children and the role of elementary schools and the educational publishers.
“The idea that my children will grow up in this (sometimes) risky cyber connected world troubled me. Even though I feel primarily responsible, I questioned myself: ‘what do children learn at school about safe behaviour online?’”

Sophie Linington
Sophie is Deputy CEO at Parent Zone. Parent Zone are the experts in digital family life. They provide support and information to parents, children and schools, working globally to help families to navigate the internet safely and confidently. The talk will be about helping parents feel more confident about their ‘digital parenting’ and will cover 3 areas of Digital Life Skills that their children will need to develop so that they can embrace opportunities and manage difficulties online.

In short:
This Guest Hacker Program will teach us the best way to make our children behave safer online.
